Irene M. Stillingsis currently the Executive Director of the San Diego Regional Energy Office (SDREO).
SDREO is an independent, public-benefit, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that
- conducts energy policy and planning,
- administers public benefit energy programs and
- serves as the clearinghouse for energy information to the San Diego Region.
SDREO recently completed Energy 2030: San Diego Regional Energy Strategy, a comprehensive energy plan that addresses regional energy issues and provides a vision for the region to meet its current and future energy needs.
She has 28 years of experience in the energy industry that has included various executive positions at New York State & Gas Corporation (a $2 billion company with 5000 employees), including Vice President of Marketing & Sales and Vice President of Customer Services and Communications. In these roles she designed and implemented a wide array of innovative consumer, communications and marketing products and services, many of which won national recognition and were adopted throughout the utility industry.
Prior to joining SDREO, she was also Vice President at ConneXt, Inc., a software company providing products and services to the energy industry and Director of Customer Care at Navigant Consulting, Inc.
She is President of imsMENTOR, a firm focusing on enhancing individual and organizational effectiveness, assisting in breakthrough performance enhancements, visionary strategic planning and developing customer-focused and results oriented service and marketing strategies.
Ms. Stillings has held leadership positions on numerous national committees and is an active spokesperson on the state and national level. In recognition of her many accomplishments and strong leadership role, she was installed in the Wall of Fame at the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
Ms. Stillings received her BA Degree, Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Rochester and her MS Degree from Syracuse University. She is an avid scuba diver, having taught scuba diving for many years and travels extensively in order to explore the wonders and beauty of the underwater world. Irene is married and has three children and nine grandchildren.
