Resilient Cities: How Global Climate Trends Affect Local Communities

Climate change is here now, causing extreme weather events around the world.  Severe flooding extreme heat waves, prolonged drought and sea level rise are now becoming common – far sooner than many experts predicted. The US National Climate Assessment detailed our national exposure and urged states and cities to prepare resiliency plans.  Resiliency is about adapting to change, being able to bounce back from adversity.   This session will make the case that climate change is affecting San Diego now.  Our year-round fire season is one consequence.  Join us to begin the discussion for building our own Resiliency Plan for San Diego.

We invite you to bring your expertise and add your content during the Q & A . . . We learn better, together.
